I have been working therapeutically with people using the creative arts since 2006 and I have a background of over a decade of experience working with individuals and groups to address their struggles through psychotherapy.
With a background in Fine Art and Graphics, my experiences of creativity grew into an interest in how creative expression could support our wellbeing and open new doors to self-exploration. This led me to an initial training in Art Psychotherapy in 2009. My interest in therapy has been on how we relate; to ourselves, to our creative objects and ideas, to the people around us, to our therapist. This focus on relationships led to me doing post-graduate training on working with our intimate relationships as a Couples Therapist and using how we relate to each other as a tool for growth and development.
I am a registered health care professional through the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and you can verify my registration through their website. I am also a member of the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT) and am listed on their register of practitioners here. I have professional insurance, and my work is supervised in accordance with the requirements of my registering bodies.
I am a qualified Online Therapist and a qualified FE teacher. Since 2016 I work part-time as a HE lecturer teaching Creative Therapeutic Practice and Counselling. I am currently completing a full training in Pesso Boyden Psychotherapy.
My prior employment experiences include working in NHS mental health settings working with complex mental health needs and working with charities supporting those with trauma and abuse histories.
